Our Class Poetry

The Ocean (a haiku by Mrs. Thomas’ Core 1)

The vast, loud ocean

Rhythmic, shimmering, blue

Sparkling like diamonds

Flowers (a haiku by Paxton, Blair, Christen, and Elizabeth W.)

Swaying in the wind

Smooth, fragrant petals galore

Fragile, silky soft

Autumn (a haiku by Daniel K.)

The autumn wind blows

Calling the leaves to the ground

To join him in his dance

The Snake (a haiku by Mrs. Thomas’ core 2)

The venemous snake

Slithering into its home

Devious and sly

The Sunset (a haiku by Mrs. Thomas’ core 3)

Breathtaking colors

Casting shadows overhead

Majestic sunset

My Toe (a limerick by Shayla)

I have a tiny toe

Because it just won’t grow.

I try and I try

While the years pass by,

But does my toe grow? No!

The Unicorn (a haiku by Mrs. Thomas’ core 4)

Majestic and strange

Magnificently unique

Unreal unicorn

The Volcano (a haiku by Mandy, Alice, and Lizzie)

Spearing lava comes

Reaches closer to the sky

Volcanoes erupt

The Waterfall (a haiku by Shayla)

Splashing waterfall

Glistening water flying

Breathtaking beauty

Stan (a limerick by Drew)

There once was a man named Stan.

He was a very tan man.

He said, “Let’s go to the beach.”

“I’m not Jesse Creech.”

I am a man named Stan.

The Snake (a haiku)

The evil devious snake

Eating a poor baby mouse

It burped in delight.

The Ocean (a haiku by Nimer)

Ocean is peaceful

Ocean is clear and graceful

Majestic beauty

Squirrels (a limerick by Rebekah, Johnny, and Rachel)

Squirrels are lots of fun.

They play ’til the day is done.

They play all day

Near the bay.

The squirrels have lots of fun.

Sunset (a haiku by Lilly)

Sunset, bright and clear

Sunset over the water

Bringing down the day
