About Mrs. Thomas
I am an only child who was born and raised in north-central Indiana. I grew up in a very small town in Indiana (I like to refer to it as a “village”) called Gilead. You may or may not be able to find it on a map! My dad, Allen, is a self-employed dairy farmer and my mom, Lane, works for the state of Indiana at Mississinewa Reservoir. I currently live in Havelock with my husband, Kyle, and our 5-year-old son, Landon. My husband is a United States Marine who is stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, and came home from his 4th deployment in August, 2009, after spending 7 months in Iraq. My husband’s military career has taken us from Indiana to Hawaii, and now to North Carolina! Our biggest news is that we recently found out we’ll be adding a baby girl to our family in July!
I graduated from North Miami High School (Denver, Indiana) in May, 2002, and began college at Indiana University with a major in elementary education. After my husband and I relocated from Hawaii to North Carolina in 2007, I enrolled at East Carolina University and began my career as a Pirate! After graduating from ECU with a degree in elementary education, my heart led me down the path to middle school. My licensure areas are Elementary Education (K-6) and Reading. I am also currently working on obtaining my graduate certificate in Autism.
I am looking forward to an excellent school year with you and your student! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
