I’m thinking of you all as you begin 7th grade! You’ll do great! :) I hope you had a wonderful summer!

I’ll be in Indiana teaching 11th grade! Wow, right?! Hopefully I’ll be back in middle school next school year.

I’ll miss you all. Have a great year! Mrs. Hopkins is DA BOMB! :)

Sailfish parents and students:

I am sad to announce that, after much deliberation, my family and I have decided that we will move back to Indiana at the end of the summer, 2010. My husband has completed 8 years of military duty and has decided to move on and seek a new career. For that reason, we have decided, as a family, to move back to Indiana to be with our family and friends there.

I appreciate the time I’ve spent with each of my students and will miss each of them dearly. I can see how much they’ve begun to grown into more mature and well-rounded young adults and am very proud of the work they’ve done this year.

While I am very sad to leave Morehead Middle, I am also anxious to see my family back home and begin a teaching career there.

Please keep in contact with me if you can. My email address is sara_teach09@yahoo.com . I’d love to hear from all of you periodically.

Thank you very much for a great and rewarding year.

Mrs. Thomas

Story Elements EOG Review

May 6, 2010 at 1:27 PM (Uncategorized)

GROUP INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Your group has 30 minutes to find a video clip, song, or website that demonstrates your assigned tip. You will present this to the class on Friday.

2. Along with your video clip, song, etc…, you should be prepared to “teach” the class about your tip. You will have access to my laptop and the projector.

3. The link to your video clip plus your teaching notes must be saved to my folder in the student shared folder by the end of the class period. No exceptions!

To save: click “Start” and then “My computer”. Next, click on “Vol 1 on Lexar 15″. You will then click on “Student Shared Folder”. Find my folder, labeled “Thomas” and open it. Click on your core’s folder. Inside the folder, click on “Tips Videos”. You can save your work here. Be sure to label your work with your group members’ names.

4. Each group is limited to 3 minutes so be sure your clip or song does not surpass that time. Once you have found your video clip, your group may practice quietly in another area of the media center.

5. You may use the following links to find examples of your group’s tip:

www.youtube.com

www.movieclips.com

These are only suggestions. You may visit another website if you wish. Please remember to find movie clips or songs that are school appropriate.

RDJs

April 28, 2010 at 5:42 PM (Uncategorized)

RDJ #12 is the LAST RDJ of the school year. Students may still re-submit RDJ #10, #11, or #12 to earn back half of the points they missed until May 14th.

After May 14th, I will no longer accept late or missing homework or RDJ re-dos.
